FAQ's
Q.
What is Paintless Dent
Removal (PDR)?
A.
It is a process whereby dents are removed by applying pressure to the
back side of each dent, using a variety of specialized picks and hand
tools. Extensive training and experience are required in order to make
proper repairs. Damages properly repaired by PDR technique seldom can be
detected by a naked eye.
Using PDR can save owner money when the vehicle is sold or traded, since
selling a repainted vehicle is more difficult. Also, the vehicle will be
in the shop for a much shorter time than other methods, and the repair
usually costs less.
Care should be exercised when choosing a PDR facility. If repairs are
made by unqualified technicians, the owner can end up with more problems
than before.
Estimating
Q.
Do you require
appointments for estimating repairs?
A.
No. We provide free estimates. For Hail damage and major dents and
dings, the vehicle needs to be clean and dry.
Q.
Do you require
appointments for estimating hail damage repairs?
A.
No. However, it may take 15 to 30 minutes, and you should plan
accordingly.
Should a large-scale hail storm occur, Insurance companies will schedule
appointments for hail estimates at their claims drive.
Q.
Can hail damage estimates be provided under any
condition?
A.
We cannot estimate repairs to vehicles that are wet or need to be
washed, as these conditions interfere with accurate assessment of dent
sizes and quantities.
Q.
Is there a charge
for estimating repairs?
A.
Generally, there is no charge. However, for hail damage estimates during
the periods immediately following major hail-storms, there may be a
nominal charge, which is fully credited if Dent Experts performs the
repairs.
Q. How long is an estimate valid?
A.
Our estimates are good for 90 days.
Q.
Do actual repair
charges track closely with the estimate?
A.
Yes. In almost all cases, as long as the scope of work is not changed
from the estimate, our actual charges match our estimates.
Q.
Can you provide
an estimate over the phone?
A.
An accurate estimate can only be provided by visual inspection.
